Divorce Support Services for Individuals
While mediation is best conducted with both parties involved, sometimes, for varying reasons, this cannot be done. There are situation where a person might not have the opportunity or the ability to work with the other party regarding their divorce or separation issues. A co-parent may not want to work out disagreements. They might not be at the same stage in the separation process as the other party in terms of acceptance, or they might be physically unable to attend meetings.
Whatever the reason that both parties cannot attend mediation, I am available to provide support to the party that is ready to move forward with their life.
Divorce mediators provide individual support by encouraging opportunity, allowing people to see what is now possible, what they can achieve.
Peace and empowerment is the goal of mediation, and while one party may not be at this stage yet, the other should feel capable and that they are allowed to achieve this. Individual support involves helping a person move forward with their life, accepting the stage they are at and helping them get to where they want to be. I approach this with a listening ear and as open heart. The idea of individual support is that the person attending these sessions is allowed to focus on how they can make their lives better, rather than dwelling on what was.
