Expert Divorce Mediation
Jun 15, 2017Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) processes are alternative methods of helping people resolve legal problems before going to court. Divorce Mediation is one example of this process as it uses a mediator, or neutral third party, to help resolve the many potential areas of disagreement in a divorce settlement with less conflict. Using a mediator is less expensive and takes less time for the divorcing couples and utilizes significantly fewer state resources. Lesa Koskis an experienced and trusted law firm that serves Coon Rapids, Anoka, Blaine, Andover, Champlin, and Ham Lake MN, and offers high quality divorce mediation services for couples wishing to settle the terms of their divorce without a lengthy and costly court battle.

Lesa Koski is a family lawyer who also specializes in mediation services. She is a Qualified Neutral under Rule 114 of the MN Rules of Practice and is an Early Neutral Evaluator for Financial and Custody/Parenting time issues through Anoka County. Lesa works with couples and their families to navigate divorce with as little stress and difficulty as possible. Lesa understands that divorce can be an extremely difficult and emotional time for all involved and works to empower both parties to find solutions that work for you. Lesa can help you and your divorcing spouse solve issues like finding an equitable way to divide up assets, debts and property, developing a parenting plan (also known as a child custody arrangement) or help in determining child support payments.
The Mediation Process
The mediation process is entirely voluntary and must be entered into by both parties. If your soon to be ex-spouse declines to participate, Lesa Koski can provide you with a letter which indicates that you attempted to mediate your divorce through our office. It is also important to understand that even though Lesa is an attorney, if you use her mediation services, she is unable to also serve as your attorney. As your mediator, she cannot draft any Court documents or dissolution paperwork for you as that is the duty of an attorney because she cannot be both your mediator and attorney.
